Film und Games - ein Wechselspiel

In recent years, many computer games have developed at a rapid pace in the direction of film. The moving images of these games today are of such outstanding quality and compositional density that they are often virtually indistinguishable from film. A detailed comparative examination of the two media is therefore overdue.

The exhibition of the same name (July 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016) at the Deutsches Filmmuseum is the first to examine the interaction between film and games. The aim of the show is to convey how films and games influence each other aesthetically and thematically, where there are fundamental similarities or differences, and similar developments. The relationship between films and games is explored from different perspectives. Source: Frankfurt Film Museum
