"The People's Court - Hitler's political tribunal"

The People's Court was created in 1934 by the National Socialists to "combat enemies of the state". By the end of the war, more than 16,700 people had to answer to this new supreme political court, which from 1942 sentenced every second defendant to death.

The exhibition provides information on the origins and organisation of the court, uses the example of individual fates to shed light on its practice of sentencing and provides information on how to deal with former court personnel after 1945 (source: Topography of Terror).
